We at Druk Padma Karpo School conduct student council election annually. Students go through different stages and process similar to real life political election. Interested students first register themselves as candidates for the election. To earn the voters’ interest, they learn a lot about the effectiveness of campaigning and strategies that work best. Each student gets to vote for a candidate running for a specific post. New council members were selected through the democratic process of casting vote and getting results declared and each vote is counted under the presence of the committee for the council members.
The Investiture day marks the commencement of the formation of new students ‘ council members and bestowing upon them the great responsibilities of carrying forward tirelessly the visions of the school.
This year, the day was observed on 25th of March with much gusto as usual with proper ceremonial functions. On this important day, Madam Nilza Angmo, Deputy Superintendent of Police graced the occasion with her magnificent presence.
New members had their swearing-in ceremony under her dictation. Similarly, old members received their certificate of appreciation with a khatak expressing gratitude for their service for the School.
Along with Council members, all the captains of the four houses were sworn in and got felicitation from the chief guest.
