“DPKS Annual Athletics Meet 2023: A Celebration of Talent and Sportsmanship”.

The Annual three-day Athlete meet held at the Druk Padma Karpo School campus from August 23rd to August 25th, 2023, was a thrilling showcase of sportsmanship and talent. The event brought together the four houses of the school, namely Harmony, Courage, Unity, and Wisdom, in a spirited competition across a range of exciting events. Students enthusiastically participated in activities such as cone collection, sprints including the 100-meter and 200-meter races, thrilling relay races including the 4x50m relay and 4x50m mixed relay. Additionally, the meet featured challenging throwing events like shot put and discus throw, as well as the excitement of jumping events, including the long jump.
To conclude the festivities, the staff members, also representing the different houses, engaged in a spirited racing competition, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event. The annual athlete meet not only promotes physical fitness but also fosters a sense of unity and healthy competition among the students and staff of Druk Padma Karpo School.
The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries who added prestige to the event. Mr. Tsering Angchuk, the Deputy Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Leh. His presence at the event not only honoured the school but also motivated and inspired the students. Furthermore, the event had the privilege of hosting Mr. Tsering Tashi, the District Youth Service & Sports Officer, as the guest of honour. Their presence at the DPKS Annual Athletics Meet symbolized the strong support from local authorities for the school’s commitment to sports and the holistic development of its students. Bhoti Language Heritage

On the 24th of August, our middle section students had a remarkable and enriching experience as they actively participated in the ‘Bhoti Language Heritage Quiz,’ which was organized by Lamdon Model School in Shey. This event marked a significant departure from our routine curriculum, offering our students a unique opportunity to engage in experiential learning that celebrated the rich cultural heritage of the Bhoti language.
It is with great pride and joy that we announce our students’ outstanding achievement in this quiz. Out of the participating teams, our students demonstrated their knowledge and dedication admirably, securing a well-deserved third position. This achievement is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the excellent guidance provided by their teachers.

DPKS Infant Carnival Celebration, 2023

Druk Padma Karpo School celebrated the Infant Section Carnival 2023. The Infant Carnival Celebration had exceeded all expectations, leaving a lasting impression on the hearts of everyone present. The event was organised in the school Central Courtyard. Director School Education, Ladakh, Sh. Tsering Paldan, KAS was the Chief Guest. School chairman His Eminence Kyabje Thuksay Rinpoche addressed the parents. All the children from the infant section performed variety of dances and skits to show the gratitude to their parents and all the performance were heart touching. The theme was based on ‘gratitude’. The event was a grand success.
Happy faces of the children of the infant section were all-around like flowers blooming in the spring. Good teamwork and proper management especially by infant section teachers made the event more successful. The school celebrates Infant Carnival to encourage and give platform to the blooming stars of infant section. We extended our heartfelt gratitude to all the students, parents, teachers and staff members who contributed to the success of infant carnival. Your support, enthusiasm and active participation made the event truly remarkable.

Teacher’s Day at Druk Padma Karpo School was organized with great enthusiasm by the 9th-grade students. The day was a remarkable celebration filled with warmth and appreciation. The students put together a fantastic cultural program that showcased their talents in singing, dancing, and drama, leaving both teachers and fellow students thoroughly entertained. The day was not just about entertainment; it also included engaging games and activities that brought the entire school community together in a spirit of friendship.
It was a heartfelt tribute to the dedicated teachers, who play a pivotal role in shaping future of the students. This event served as a reminder of the profound impact teachers have on student lives and the importance of showing gratitude to them. It was a day of fun, gratitude, and heartfelt appreciation that will be cherished by everyone at DPKS.

LIVE TO RESCUE

A day at Live to Rescue Centre, Nang- as a part of school-community service, the teaching and non-teaching staffs of Druk Padma Karpo school has arranges one day voluntary service to LIVE TO RESCUE situated at Nang village. The day included cleanliness drive in and around the campus, providing help with the first aid to the animals and helping with the transportation and stacking of alfa-alfa for animals.
The school always believes and taught its student to “be kind to every kind” and this day was marked by great satisfaction and happiness.

Inspire to Aspire

In yet another successful episode of Inspire to Aspire, two eminent personalities shared their experiences. First one was Captain Megh Raj. He threw light on the topic Agniveer and recruitment process in the Indian Army. The second guest was Major Palmo who did her schooling from Ladakh and during graduation she joined NCC which paved her way to Indian Army.
She shared her experience through presentation and in that she explained the role, criteria for recruitment, benefits of serving in Indian Army etc. She has travelled throughout India. It gave her significant exposure which according to her would not be possible in any other profession. Interactive session with the students was done by both of them in which they cleared many doubts which the students had. It was a productive session and we hope that students were inspired by them especially the NCC cadets.
