Jigmet Padma Dorjey

10th

Taekwondo has been a significant part of my life for over a year now. Starting as a white belt, I was initially overwhelmed by the amount of information given by the instructor. For example, what seemed like simple Three-step sparring turned out to involve proper stances, blocks, and many other details I hadn’t considered. My journey took a thrilling turn when I was selected for the district competition held in Kargil on 16th March 2023. The experience was amazing, and I felt incredibly proud of myself. Subsequently, I was also chosen for the National Championship in Rajasthan on 20th April. Although I missed out on the Asian Championship due to exams, Taekwondo has taught me valuable lessons in kicks, punches, self-restraint, and persistence.

Tsering Paljor

9th-A

My name is Tsering Paljor, studying in 10th grade, and my passion is football. I recently had the opportunity to travel to Assam for football tournaments, which I’m incredibly grateful for. I believe in always being thankful for what you have and following your passion.

Padma Tashi

10th-A

Dancing has always been my passion, starting from school co-curricular activities to joining a dance academy to learn more about it. With the guidance of an amazing mentor, I improved and had the opportunity to choreograph a music video for a rising singer in Ladakh. Being chosen as one of the dancers for the video was a thrilling experience, teaching me the effort it takes to produce a 3-4 minute music video. The premiere in September was a moment of pride as my friends, classmates, and teachers appreciated my work. This journey has given me a new perspective, and I’m determined to continue exploring different dance styles and showcasing my talent.

Our Alumni

Serving Back to school
Druk Padma Karpo School recently appointed two new teachers who are all alumni of the school. Miss Kunzang Dolma joined as the IT Teacher and Miss Rigzen Dolker as the Physical Education Teacher. This news brought great joy to the entire school community, as it symbolized the fulfillment of the school’s vision and mission. These two teachers exemplified the school motto: Strive, Succeed, and Serve.
Kunzang Dolma, the IT Teacher and a member of the first batch (2012), shared her gratitude for the opportunity to serve the school where she had received her education. She believed that DPKS had played a significant role in her personal and academic growth, instilling values that went beyond the curriculum. She felt a strong sense of pride in returning to her alma mater as a teacher, aspiring to continue the school’s legacy.
Miss Rigzen Dolkar, the Physical Education Teacher and a member of the school’s second batch (2013), expressed her immense privilege in returning to the place where her educational journey began. She recognized that studying at DPKS had not only provided her with academic knowledge but had also shaped her into an individual with strong values, moral ethics, and a deep appreciation for culture. She felt proud to be back at the school and was eager to uphold what she had learned, taking it further as a teacher.
The entire school team warmly welcomed these two alumni-turned-teachers, wishing them luck in their new roles. Their return to Druk Padma Karpo School as educators was a testament to the strong bond between the school and its graduates. As they embarked on this new chapter, the alumni-turned-teachers were determined to continue the school’s mission of excellence, imparting knowledge, values, and inspiration to the next generation of students.
We are immensely proud and blessed to share such success stories.
